POSITION OVERVIEW

The Festival Coordinator, Press Information is charged with generating news coverage and positively reinforcing the Sundance Institute brand through the creation of meaningful data reports. This role also coordinates logistical duties to support the Press Office for the annual Sundance Film Festival.

Working closely under the direction of the Manager, Communications, the Festival Coordinator, Press Information creates critical data reports about artists and projects at the Festival, leads daily media reporting, and supports high-level storytelling functions of the Sundance Film Festival.

This temporary position works full-time (40 hours per week) from Wednesday, November 4, 2026 to Friday, February 26, 2027 and will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet key deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. This position is based out of our Boulder, CO office in order to work onsite in a hybrid capacity throughout its employment.

Top priorities include but are not limited to…

  • Developing and managing media lists; and leading media monitoring and reporting across the organization.

  • Coordinating a significant amount of press coverage aggregation and organizing into detailed reports.

  • Monitoring and entering press coverage in the database, creating high-quality press coverage reports, and sending out daily press reports.

  • Auditing coverage for accuracy, and flagging incorrect coverage to appropriate teams.

  • Monitoring and reporting on trade reviews, acquisition, and representation announcements.

  • Gathering, analyzing, tracking and reporting key information on artists, projects, and press demographics, including collaborating across the Institute to gather information and researching and verifying data to provide customized reports to departments.

  • Tracking statistics and data for the Festival-at-a-Glance one-sheet, including calculating statistics and ensuring accuracy.

  • Creating a comprehensive Sundance Film Festival press coverage report.

  • Assisting with screenings and events as assigned.

  • Coordinating logistics related to the Press Office during the Festival as needed and assigned.

  • Manage and coordinate the Press Interview Space during the 2027 Sundance Film Festival.

  • Providing general administrative or project support to the team at peak times.

  • Completing a comprehensive written wrap report.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • 2 years experience in media relations, publicity, communications, marketing, data analysis, or related.

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a variety of people.

  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to audit complex data, and perform tasks accurately.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize.

  • Experience with primary research methodologies and statistical analysis including the ability to calculate basic statistics.

  • Strong capability with Microsoft Excel (i.e. pivot tables and advanced functions), working knowledge of databases, and proficiency in Google Products preferred.

  • Working knowledge of media tracking platforms such as Cision or Muckrack is a plus.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

Skills Required
