FEMA Public Assistance Costing Specialist
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of FEMA Public Assistance Costing Specialist. In this key position, you will be responsible for evaluating and validating the cost estimates submitted by Applicants for FEMA Public Assistance programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cost estimation, a deep understanding of FEMA regulations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cost Estimation - Review and analyze cost estimates submitted by applicants for FEMA Public Assistance programs, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with FEMA guidelines. Assess the reasonableness and validity of project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and other eligible expenses.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Stay current on FEMA policies, guidelines, and regulations related to cost eligibility for Public Assistance programs. Interpret and apply FEMA regulations to assess the eligibility of costs submitted by applicants.
  • Documentation Validation - Collaborate with FEMA representatives and applicants to validate and document cost estimates. Identify and address any discrepancies or missing information in the cost documentation.
  • Technical Expertise - Utilize specialized software and tools for cost estimation and analysis. Provide technical expertise in the evaluation of complex cost documentation, including large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Communication - Work closely with applicants to clarify cost-related information and address any issues. Communicate effectively with FEMA representatives and other stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of cost eligibility criteria.
  • Data Management - Maintain accurate and organized records of cost estimates, validation activities, and communications. Utilize relevant databases and systems to track and manage cost-related information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as finance, accounting, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably in the context of FEMA Public Assistance programs or a related field.

SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills for evaluating cost estimates.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) Adobe Pro, and general skill using technology such as smartphones and the internet
  • Proficiency in using specialized software and tools for cost estimation and analysis.
  • In-depth understanding of FEMA regulations and guidelines related to cost eligibility for Public Assistance programs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with applicants, FEMA representatives, and other team members.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing guidelines and regulations, as well as evolving disaster response scenarios.

BENEFITS/COMPENSATION:
As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision, and the company matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods.
Compensation for these positions is hourly ($22 - $26/hr) based on experience, background, and skills.
