About the Role

CBR is the #1 entertainment website and publishes up-to-the-minute news on blockbuster movies, TV shows, video games, comic books, music and other forms of entertainment. 

We are looking for an experienced Feed Specialist with a proven track record of creating and optimizing viral editorial content that performs strongly on platforms like Google Discover and other content feeds. This role blends ideation, writing, editing, and analytics-driven strategy across our core entertainment verticals: Movies, TV, Superhero, and Anime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation & Editing: Write and edit engaging, high-quality viral articles optimized for feed distribution, with a strong emphasis on entertainment trends.
  • Ideation: Generate timely and relevant story ideas that align with trending topics, audience interests, and platform algorithms.
  • Optimization for Discover & Feeds: Leverage platform best practices and performance insights to maximize visibility and engagement. Identify opportunities to distribute our content across leading syndication platforms (Apple News, Flipboard, MSN, SmartNews, etc.)
  • Analytics-Driven Strategy: Monitor traffic, CTR, and engagement metrics to guide editorial decisions and refine content strategy.
  • Trendspotting: Stay ahead of industry developments, pop culture moments, and algorithm shifts to capture viral opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with editorial leadership and cross-functional teams to align content strategies with brand goals.
  • Negotiating: Negotiating the best possible terms with platform partners and the highest possible rev shares for the ones on a rev share model
     

Qualifications

  • 3-5 Years Proven editorial experience at a well-known digital publication, ideally in entertainment (Movies, TV, Superhero, Anime).
  • Demonstrated success with viral content that has performed well on Discover, news aggregators, or content feeds.
  • Strong editorial judgment with the ability to identify shareable, clickable, and timely stories.
  • Experience using analytics tools (Google Analytics, internal dashboards, etc.) to inform decisions.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a knack for crafting compelling headlines.
  • Passion for entertainment culture, particularly film, TV, anime, and fandom-driven communities.
     

Nice-to-Have

  • Knowledge of audience development strategies. 
  • Experience managing or mentoring writers in a fast-paced editorial environment.
  • Familiarity with multimedia content formats (video, social, newsletters).
