Keeper is hiring a skilled and strategic Federal Government Relations Manager to advance our federal advocacy strategy and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. This is a remote position for candidates located in DC, Virginia, or Maryland, with regular travel into Washington DC.

About the Role

We are seeking a smart, driven, and detail-oriented Federal Government Relations Manager to join our Communications team to support our federal advocacy efforts and help execute a high-impact public policy strategy. In this pivotal role, you will help coordinate outreach, support stakeholder engagement, take and distribute meeting notes, track legislative activity and ensure follow-ups are executed effectively. You’ll support Keeper’s engagement with government officials, lawmakers, lobbyists and external stakeholders to help advance our federal advocacy efforts. Your understanding of legislative processes, attention to detail, and ability to manage timelines and communications will be key to supporting our goals and ensuring Keeper’s voice is effectively represented.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and external representation to develop and implement the company’s federal advocacy strategy
  • Assist in the execution of Keeper’s federal advocacy strategy through logistics, research, and meeting coordination
  • Lead the execution of government affairs initiatives aligned with Keeper’s business objectives and policy priorities
  • Build and maintain relationships with government officials, lawmakers, lobbyists and external stakeholders
  • Monitor key legislative dates and deadlines, create a strategic calendar that aligns with goals, and execute the plan effectively, ensuring resources are allocated and tasks are completed on time
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships with third-party stakeholder organizations, and manage ongoing relationships with these groups
  • Develop policy communications, including position papers, legislative proposals, briefing materials, thought leadership and memos, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in messaging
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including public sector, communications and leadership, to ensure consistent and effective government relations strategies
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership on potential policy changes or advocacy opportunities that align with company objectives
  • Represent Keeper at industry events, fostering relationships with key stakeholders
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on government relations processes, policy positions, and the potential impact of legislation
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in government relations, public policy or related fields, with a proven track record of successful advocacy
  • In-depth knowledge of federal legislative and regulatory processes, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze complex policy issues
  • Strong relationships with federal policymakers, agency officials and key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clear, compelling policy papers, legislative proposals, briefing materials, reports and more
  • Experience managing complex calendars, tracking legislative activity and owning follow-through tasks
  • Experience in policy analysis and advocacy, with the ability to provide strategic recommendations based on research and legislative developments
  • Knowledge of political trends, key dates and deadlines, and the ability to anticipate potential impacts on the company’s business objectives
  • Experience in technology or cybersecurity preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field or equivalent experience
