About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements
The Features Editor, Allrecipes.com is responsible for pitching, assigning, editing, and posting content, specifically larger features, columns, and spotlight packages (for SEO, as part of brand-building, and as part of sales packages) on Allrecipes. They will report to the Senior Editorial Director, Features & Community and work closely with the make sure the site’s content adheres to the site’s voice and vision and helps the site to meet its traffic goals. They will have a strong working relationship with a list of writers under different beats and will have a keen eye for what makes a successful food feature.
Hybrid 3x a week- (New York)
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
Remote-
In-office Expectations: This position is fully remote with no in-office requirements, (might require coming into an office 1 or 2x a year)
About The Positions Contributions:
Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results:

20%: Pitch, assign, and edit stories and other content for the site

20%: Analyze and provide reporting on performance of published content, and suggest new ways to improve or optimize stories going forward

20%: Collaborate with visual editors, news & trending editors, staff writers, and growth team members on cross-team packages

10%: Write and edit posts as needed

10%: Help build and manage a diverse group of expert writers who can cover food topics from a lens that impacts different communities

10%: Work closely with the sales team to produce premium sponsored packages

10%: Team with social, homepage, and email editors to distribute and promote features
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. Related fields would be journalism, creative writing, etc.
Experience:
-
Three years in an editorial environment, with at least two of those years working as either an editor or an associate editor, preferably on food or lifestyle content.

At least two years’ experience ideally writing and editing for the web. Experience writing and editing magazine-style content.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of The AP Stylebook, strong writing skills, idea-generation skills, and editing abilities.

Extensive experience using Microsoft Office products, most especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience using a CMS and publishing platform.

Experience assigning to and working with freelancers.

Incredibly strong attention to detail and a demonstrated history of this in multiple positions. Must be flexible.

A strong leader and creative thinker.
