Summary Generated by Built In

In this position...

Lead a team of Feature Systems Engineers within the Enclosures domain, driving the technical strategy, execution, and talent development needed to deliver next-generation Power Enclosure systems from concept through production.

The Feature Systems Engineering Supervisor – Enclosures leads a team of Feature Systems Engineers (FSEs) responsible for the architecture, development, and delivery of Power Enclosure features across the vehicle lineup. This role combines strong technical ownership of the Enclosures feature domain with people leadership responsibility — coaching, developing, and directing a team of engineers while remaining deeply engaged in the systems engineering work itself.

The Supervisor will translate customer and business requirements into robust technical solutions, ensuring the team's designs meet cost, quality, safety, and cybersecurity targets. They will act as the primary technical and people leader for the Enclosures FSE team, partnering closely with cross-functional core teams, program leadership, and the supply base to ensure features are delivered on time and to spec. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has both walked the systems engineering V-model themselves and can now guide others through it.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Feature Systems Engineers working in the Power Enclosures domain, including performance management, career development, and technical coaching.
  • Balance workload and assign features/projects across the team based on capability, capacity, and business priority.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture; recruit and onboard new talent as the team grows.
  • Serve as an escalation point for technical roadblocks, resourcing conflicts, and cross-functional disputes affecting the team.
  • Guide the team's systems architecture and development work, with a concentration on new technology in Power Enclosure systems, from early feature development through production launch, including feature upgrade and migration planning.
  • Ensure features and functions are allocated appropriately to meet cost, quality, and performance targets.
  • Oversee development of feature End-to-End and Component scenarios, Failure Mode Avoidance documentation, feature verification plans, functional safety assessments, and cybersecurity assessments/mitigations.
  • Guide the team through the use of Model Based Systems Engineering and software development practices (e.g., Python, C++) and requirement tools (e.g., Gherkin).
  • Review existing system designs across the team's portfolio to identify opportunities for cost or quality improvement.
  • Interact with product and program teams, core engineers, and functional areas to negotiate balanced solutions to challenging requirements.
  • Lead trade-off discussions with multi-functional teams and represent the Enclosures domain in program-level decision-making.
  • Communicate complex systems, issues, and resolutions clearly and concisely to engineering peers, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Apply connected data and data analytics to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and inform team priorities.
Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and/or features.
  • Functional knowledge of networking, power distribution, and body systems.
  • Demonstrated history of collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve software problems and CAN communication issues.
