Job Description Summary:
BorgWarner Technical Center India Private Limited is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer -
Feature Owner for PowerDrive Systems. This role involves leading the technical development and verification of electrified propulsion systems, working across engineering competencies, suppliers, and partners. The candidate will be responsible for conducting technical analysis, trade-off studies, FMEAs, design reviews, and customer presentations. They will negotiate technical requirements, scope, and subcontract deliverables for the product development team. Additionally, the role includes supporting the continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methods, and tools, and acting as an ambassador for Systems Engineering Principles and best practices.

• Key Responsibility:
• • Collaborate across engineering competencies, suppliers, and partners to deliver on Systems Engineering commitments
• • Lead technical development, from a feature perspective, with cross-functional team through the electrified propulsion systems life cycle.
• • Develop & coordinate Feature development roadmap & track deliverables to program application milestones
• • Lead the technical analysis, trade off studies, FMEAs, design reviews and customer presentations
• • Negotiate the technical requirements, scope and subcontract deliverables for features
• • Interpret Functional Safety (ISO 26262) requirements for the product development team
• • Support the definition and continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methods, and tools
• • Act as an ambassador for Systems Engineering Principles and best-practices
• • Collaborate and Mentor; a role model for BW Belief

Work Experience/Skills:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical/Mechanical discipline

• 8+ years working experience in related engineering field applying Systems Engineering principles throughout the product life cycle in one or more of the following areas:

o Automotive electronics product development

o Power electronics, specifically motor drive inverters

o Systems Engineering

• Required technical knowledge related to this feature:

o Good understanding of and experience with inverters, power electronics, and eMachines

o Good understanding of the hardware and software aspects of motor control

• Skilled in MBSE methodologies application product/feature development lifecycle.

• Leadership skills – planning and organizing commitments

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Self-motivated and driven personality with the ability to work under limited supervision.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language

Attributes

• Awareness of or experience in multiple engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, test, software, controls)

• Requirements management methods in a structured tool such as Polarion

• Change management methods in a structured tool such as JIRA

• ASPICE and ISO 26262 experience

• Power Electronics hardware and/or software design experience

• Analysis techniques such as FMEA, FTA, etc.

• ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP certificatio
