Objective / Purpose of duty:
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to simulate structural strength, vibration performance of various JCI’s Air system products.
- Through this analysis provide recommendations to improve design, performance and reduce cost of the equipment and systems.
Main responsibilities:
- To perform FEA of fans, blowers, AHU units etc. HVAC equipment using Ansys WB module and predict its structural performance.
- Write reports summarizing the analysis results and recommendation, using standard report formats.
- Develop load cases, boundary conditions and standard analysis procedures whenever required.
- Coordinate with different teams/stakeholders for necessary product changes.
- To communicate the project requirements and results effectively with stakeholders.
Supporting responsibilities
- Work with drafting team for development of 3D models of the equipment
Key performance indicators:
Project & Product quality indicators:
Schedule variance within the threshold limits as defined in the BSC metrics
Defect Leakage within the threshold limits as defined in the BSC metrics
Process Compliance: As per defined BSC metrics
Qualification:
M.E. / M.Tech. Design/Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university. B.E Mech. with good prier FEA experience is also preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in FEA preferably in HVAC industry (Air Systems Products) using ANSYS workbench.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment with Air Systems products like AHU,ERV, fans, blowers, Dampers, roof curbs, Louvers etc.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Method and its theory, solid mechanics and vibration.
SKILLS:
- Key skills: Static structural analysis, Modal-harmonic analysis of small to complex assemblies. Thermal analysis (static and transient conditions)
Software Knowledge:
- Proficient in FEA packages like Ansys Workbench V21.R2 and above.
- Proficient in Space claim.
- Knowledge of python is added advantage.
