🚀 Project OverviewYou will join a high-impact product engineering team focused on driving business growth within a federated GraphQL ecosystem. The platform supports employer conversion from free to paid tiers, increases product engagement, and reduces churn by addressing employer pain points through data-driven recommendations and consent workflows.
This is a high-stakes, high-visibility environment where scalability, performance, and reliability directly influence revenue and retention metrics. You will primarily focus on backend systems while contributing to frontend features when needed, ensuring cohesive full-stack delivery.
🔍 Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable, production-grade backend services using Java (Spring Boot).
Build and maintain GraphQL APIs within a federated architecture.
Contribute to React-based frontend features, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems.
Maintain reliability of high-volume distributed systems through advanced debugging, performance tuning, and observability best practices.
Design and optimize data models, write advanced SQL queries, and support consent workflows and recommendation systems.
Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement long-term resilience improvements.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and optimize system performance.
Collaborate closely with Product, Data, and Design stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements in conversion and retention.
Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with working knowledge of React.
Hands-on experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs in production environments.
Advanced SQL skills (querying and optimization) and experience with MongoDB or strong NoSQL databases.
Experience building microservices and distributed systems in scalable, high-volume environments.
Solid background in data modeling, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong production troubleshooting skills and experience performing root cause analysis.
Experience working in Agile teams and remote environments.
Fluent English for daily communication.
Experience with GraphQL Federation or similar federated architectures.
Familiarity with Netflix DGS framework.
Proficiency in TypeScript or Python.
Experience with messaging queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Deep expertise in AWS, Infrastructure as Code, and observability/monitoring tooling.
Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and experience in conversion optimization or recommendation engines.
The role requires collaboration with teams aligned to Central Time (CT), USA. Candidates must overlap at least 4–5 hours daily with US-based stakeholders.
