About the RoleAs an Inpatient Unit Registered Nurse, you'll provide expert hospice nursing care to patients requiring short-term inpatient symptom management and end-of-life care. Working alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, chaplains, hospice aides, and volunteers, you'll deliver compassionate, individualized care in a peaceful, state-of-the-art hospice environment.
Your responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient evaluations
- Managing pain and complex symptoms using evidence-based hospice practices
- Administering medications, treatments, and comfort-focused interventions
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care
- Educating and supporting patients and families throughout the hospice journey
- Documenting patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
- Responding to changes in patient condition with clinical expertise and compassion
- Promoting dignity, comfort, and quality of life for every patient
- 🩺 Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License or eligible Compact License.
- 🏥 Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience.
- 💬 Excellent assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- 🤝 Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- 💙 Strong commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care with dignity and respect.
- 🌿 Previous Hospice or Palliative Care experience.
- 🏥 Experience in Oncology, ICU, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical nursing.
- 🎓 Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification.
- 📚 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
