A vacancy for a Structural Design Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, available for the location Getafe (GET). The successful candidate will join the Composite/Hybrid Structures Design Engineering department. The objective is the design and validation of composite/hybrid components and assemblies optimised in terms of weight, cost, performance and production/assembly requirements, while ensuring maximum product safety through the use of appropriate design tools. Position Integrated in a small but fast growing team for the design of the main structure of the Future Combat Aircraft (FCAS).
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Initial functions will be to make conceptual studies of the aircraft primary structure (fuselage, wing, empennage).
- Prepare solid models as preliminary structure for space reservation , support studies for integration of main components (landing gear, fuel tanks, weapons, sensors, engines and actuation of control surfaces).
- Collaborate in the definition of the main structure to support design reviews
- Collaborate in the preparation of the manufacturing dossier for the definition of a demonstrator prototype.
- Collaboration in technological projects related to FCAS
- Work integrated closely with other design teams, analysis and manufacturing, locally and internationally.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience between 3 and 5 years related to aircraft design.
- Advanced level of English.
