Job Description
Your mission during this flight:
You are a Senior System engineer experienced in the development of complex systems and you are passionate about making a difference in eVTOL aviation. You have substantial experience in system architecture and requirements engineering and a profound knowledge of the verification and validation aspects in aviation, and in particular fly-by-wire flight control systems. Within a multi-disciplinary team, you will coordinate between the various teams and systems to ensure a successful certification of the Flight Control Computers of the Volocopter aircraft. You will shape the future of eVTOL aircrafts.
Your Tasks:
- You will support with requirements management at flight control level with a focus on the control computers (including e.g. functional-, safety-, regulatory-, environmental-, and performance requirements).
- You will provide system-level expertise for coordination and alignment with various internal departments, flight testing but also certification authorities.
- You will support with the generation of tests (including safety), drawings, and design specifications.
- You will coordinate and manage an external supplier.
Qualifications
Check in your professional skills:
- Engineering degree (MSc or higher), preferably in aerospace engineering.
- At least 6 years of professional experience in systems engineering for complex systems (ideally aviation-related and relate to fly-by-wire flight control systems).
- Knowledge of aviation standards and guidelines (DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254 in line with the ARP4754A, ARP4761).
- Knowledge of certification processes (Part 21) and requirements under EASA (CS-23, CS-25, CS-27, CS-29, ideally SC-VTOL).
- Highly skilled and effective in technical writing and communicating with others.
- Experience with systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS, SysML, etc.).
- Ideally theoretical knowledge about flight testing, flight physics or electrical systems.
- Preferably experience in system verification activities.
- A structured way of working and a high sense of reliability and accountability.
