The SAP Finance team supports Finance operations and reporting for Farmers Insurance. One of the key support areas is the Reinsurance platform (SAP FS-RI). In 2026 and 2027 this platform will continue to be built out and enabled with additional contracts, all while supporting existing production operations for contracts implemented beginning in August 2026. The FS-RI technical resource will be responsible for building and delivering new business requirements and use cases all while providing production and business as usual support for existing production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high level of expertise in the design and functionality of business applications
  • Understands the business objectives and how best they can be supported by IT
  • Responsible for the conceptual design of business applications
  • Reviews and validates the technical design for business applications provided by the supplier
  • Performs quality review checks on project deliverables
  • Validates suppliers estimates
  • Performs impact analysis of application changes across various components
  • Reviews and validates the detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements
  • Performs quality review checks on project deliverables
  • Supports the implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues, training as required
  • Translate complex reinsurance requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Set up and maintain treaty and facultative structures, proportional/non-proportional arrangements, participation structures, and risk accumulations.
  • Ensure accurate reinsurance accounting (UPR, EPI, reinstatement premiums) and seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA Finance and SAP FS-CD.
  • Manage period-end (month, quarter, year-end) close processes, premium estimations, claims recoveries, and settlements.
  • Lead or support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and data reconciliation.
  • Work alongside Actuarial, Finance, Business Operations, and IT teams to implement and optimize SAP systems.

Requirements
  • 6+ years Experience working with SAP ABAP
  • Experience working with Experience Services framework
  • Experience working with SAP S/4 HANA
  • Knowledge working with FS-RI

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge in Informatica Power Center
  • Experience with SAP FS-CD
