Summary:
Responsible for design, implementation, and monitoring of assigned product features. Development of countrywide Property product pricing and contract changes. Data Analysis and reporting Participates in development of national product initiatives. Represents enterprise Product team on state, regional and national projects. Takes leadership role in special projects as assigned. Post monitoring of strategic initiatives. Stays abreast of industry developments. Collaborates with other parts of the organization to accomplish results. Responsible for providing business requirements to IT for system changes.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts research involving the development of new personal lines insurance products or programs that are to be underwritten by the company; coordinates with Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims and Marketing to develop recommendations on new personal lines insurance products for which no current FIG products exist.
- Cooperates closely with other departments in the joint completion of assignments, the orderly progression of assignments from research to conclusion and the avoidance of duplicated efforts.
- Controls product research activities that include making coverage comparisons with other companies and analyzing the need for a new product as well as researching state and federal laws regulating products that have been recommended.
- Originates and suggests appropriate areas for research and develops proposals and presentations for Senior Management review for changes to our existing product line.
- Participates in joint research projects with other Home Office departments.
- Establishes and maintains a training manual for the product division.
- Also establishes and maintains research and reference material files related to newly created personal lines insurance products that originate in the product division of Personal Lines Product Development.
- Assists the Sales/Agencies Departments in the development and preparation of material interpreting or explaining newly created personal lines insurance products.
- Provides support for the computer system in product division and recommends and maintains current software to meet the needs of the division. Maintains contact with various organizations and individuals beneficial to research activities.
