Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) is responding to market needs with reliable, redundant, efficient, quickly deployable solutions to achieve near-term power generation. B&W has a longstanding legacy in advanced boiler technology, which forms the foundation of its energy portfolio that is capable of supporting urgent demands
Partner with prospective customers, the Sales organization, and cross‑functional technical teams to shape high‑value, fast-paced projects that leverage B&W’s industry‑leading products and services for new generation facilities. Drive initiatives from concept to executable plans, ensuring each project is strategically aligned, technically sound, and positioned for profitable, long‑term success.

This role follows a hybrid working model, offering the best of both worlds with collaborative time in the B&W Akron, Ohio office combined with the flexibility to work remotely. This approach supports focused work, team connection, and work‑life balance, with the in‑office cadence aligned to the needs of the role and team. Work arrangements are designed to support both the role and the needs of the business and may shift over time.  Fully remote would be considered for the right candidate.

  • Develop the strategy for and manage the execution of the B&W project development efforts – FastPower projects are about working closely with the team to find the way to say “yes” to a customer who wants a project deployed on a quick turn basis. Must be able to work in an environment filled with ambiguity, and help to clarify those points as the project progresses.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and competitive positioning effecting the new build generation ecosystem.

  • Work closely with Sales and Business Development to ensure strategy is developed on each opportunity and work with proposal teams to turn those strategies into actionable tactics and tasks.
  • Seeks management approval of major commercial terms early in the process.
  • Ensures that proposals have compelling value propositions, technical accuracy, and competitive positioning.
  • Accountable for the Commercial Terms mark-ups and negotiations, and works closely with Legal to make certain Business requirements are met while minimizing word-smithing.
  • Coach and manage the proposal teams on the development of accurate and compelling responses to RFPs.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and gain alignment from stakeholders.
  • Leads the contract negotiating team and closes the deal.
  • Participates in turnover of the project to the Project Manager and team.
