Essential Functions

Description

Quantitative Research & Analysis

  • Programs, tests, and fields quantitative consumer research studies and surveys.
  • Monitors study participation and evaluates data quality throughout fieldwork.
  • Extracts, cleans, organizes, and maintains datasets and research results from survey platforms.
  • Analyzes quantitative data to identify relevant patterns, trends, relationships, and consumer behaviors.
  • Develops reports, charts, summaries, and presentations that translate research findings into clear business insights.
  • Supports tracking studies, consumer segmentation, concept testing, product research, and other quantitative research initiatives.
  • Maintains research data and supporting documentation to facilitate longitudinal analysis and organizational learning.

Seasonal Style and Color Testing Program

  • Manages KEEN’s seasonal style and color testing program from study design and fielding through analysis and reporting.
  • Evaluates and refines research methodologies, processes, and reporting practices to improve program consistency and effectiveness.
  • Analyzes relationships between style and color testing results and actual sales performance and applies findings to improve the program’s predictive value.
  • Applies knowledge of product, footwear, and consumer preferences to research design and the interpretation of testing results.
  • Develops and maintains Power BI or comparable dashboards that provide cross-functional teams with access to testing results and sales-correlation trends.

Qualitative Research

  • Supports the planning and execution of qualitative research, including interviews, focus groups, product testing, and other consumer research activities.
  • Coordinates participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, communications, and study logistics.
  • Supports the development and programming of qualitative studies and related research materials.
  • Organizes and analyzes interview notes, transcripts, open-ended survey responses, and other qualitative information.
  • Identifies recurring themes, behaviors, and consumer language relevant to Fan needs and motivations.
  • Synthesizes qualitative findings into clear observations and recommendations in partnership with Fan Insights leadership.

Insights Communication & Reporting

  • Translates research findings into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate internal communications, including Campfire posts and other internal content.
  • Contributes research findings and content to KEEN’s Fan Insights newsletter and other insight-sharing platforms.
  • Develops presentations, dashboards, and reporting materials, including Power BI outputs, that make consumer insights accessible to internal stakeholders.
  • Brings creativity to insights to communication formats and visualizations to improve the clarity and usability of research findings.
  • Connects individual research findings to broader consumer, cultural category, and marketplace themes.
  • Maintains an organized library of consumer research and insights to facilitate access to and use of prior findings.
  • Look for opportunities to bring Fan Insights to life through consumer quotes, behaviors, data, imagery, and stories.

Research Operations and Continuous Improvement 

  • Maintains research calendars, project documentation, participant information, study materials, and research outputs.
  • Monitors research projects against established timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Recommends and implements approved improvements to research processes, tools, reporting, and knowledge-sharing practices.
  • Applies established consumer privacy, data-handling, and research standards.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of scalable research practices that support evolving business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Consumer Insights, Market Research, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Business, Data Analytics, or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two (2) to three (3) years experience in consumer insights, marketing research, analytics, marketing research, or related field.

Any equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience programming, testing, and fielding quantitative surveys; experience with Dscout or comparable qualitative or mixed-methods research platforms preferred.
  • Ability to extract, organize, clean, and analyze datasets and relate research findings to measurable business outcomes, including sales performance.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI or a comparable business intelligence and dashboarding platform, with the ability to develop proficiency in assigned tools.
  • Ability to translate research findings into clear, audience-appropriate presentations, dashboards, reports, and internal communications.
  • Knowledge of product and footwear categories, consumer preferences, and relevant marketplace trends.
  • Ability to present research findings clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to learn and apply new research methods, analytical tools, and business knowledge.

Travel Required: Yes, up to 10% of the time.

Base Salary: $78,300 - $82,500

The salary range posted for this position represents the anticipated hiring range for this role. Offers are made within this range based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market considerations. This is the hiring range for the position; compensation above the posted maximum is not typically available at the time of offer.

Work Location: Hybrid

This role is based in the Portland, OR area and follows a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our Portland office and generally work on-site four days per week, with flexibility based on business and team needs.
