Key Responsibilities
- Component-Level Troubleshooting: Analyze electronic circuits and individual PCB components to identify and diagnose faults, failures, and performance issues.
- PCB and Transceiver Module Inspection: Inspect PCBs and transceiver modules for visible defects, including solder bridges, cold solder joints, component placement errors, and damaged components.
- Failure Analysis: Conduct failure analysis on transceiver modules, evaluating optical, electrical, and mechanical components to determine root causes of defects and malfunctions.
- Testing and Diagnostics: Utilize a variety of test and diagnostic equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers, optical spectrometers, and other specialized instruments.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of analyses, findings, corrective actions, and solutions. Prepare comprehensive failure analysis reports and technical documentation.
- Repair and Rework: Perform repair and rework activities on PCBs and transceiver modules, including soldering, desoldering, component replacement, and validation testing.
- Data Analysis: Analyze test and manufacturing data from PCBs and transceiver modules to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Quality Control and Continuous Improvement: Ensure repaired and reworked products meet quality standards and specifications. Collaborate with Quality teams to analyze failure statistics, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurrence.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience for bachelor’s degree holders, or 3 years for Master's degree holders, in test engineering within the optoelectronic devices, optical transceiver/transponder, or fiber-optic communications industries.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools, such as Minitab, JMP, SQL, or Python.
- Solid understanding of circuit diagrams and electronic components.
- Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and technical report preparation skills.
- Proven track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and collaborative team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules and travel internationally on occasion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated creativity and innovative thinking.
