Job Description:

Executive Summary:

Microchip Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Embedded Solutions Engineer (ESE) specializing in Motor Control and Digital Power Conversion to join our dynamic field applications engineering team. This role is critical in driving customer success by delivering deep technical expertise in the areas of motor control, digital power supply design, and embedded system integration using Microchip’s extensive portfolio of MCUs and DSCs.

As a senior technical leader in the field, you will collaborate closely with customers, sales teams, and internal engineering groups to promote, demonstrate, and support advanced embedded solutions that address complex customer requirements. Your ability to simplify technology adoption will directly contribute to Microchip’s business growth and market penetration in the region

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical support to customers in the domains of motor control (BLDC, PMSM, induction motors) and digital power conversion.
  • Design, validate, and optimize real-time control algorithms including Field Oriented Control (FOC).
  • Collaborate with Microchip’s sales and application engineering teams to identify opportunities and promote relevant solutions.
  • Support system integration and application development using Microchip tools such as MPLAB® X IDE, MCC, and MotorBench®.
  • Conduct design reviews, debug complex issues at both hardware and software levels, and assist customers in successful deployment.
  • Deliver technical seminars, workshops, and presentations at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to enhance awareness and engagement.
  • Provide hands-on training and onboarding sessions to help customers effectively adopt and implement Microchip technologies.
  • Communicate field-level insights to internal product teams to inform and improve product features and support tools.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s (BTech) or Master’s (MTech) degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in motor control system design, including practical exposure to BLDC, PMSM, and induction motors.
  • Strong knowledge of control algorithms, including FOC, PID tuning, and real-time implementation.
  • Practical experience in working with 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit MCUs, including peripheral interfaces like ADC, PWM, DAC, EEPROM, and FLASH memory.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, I2C, UART, and SPI.
  • Experience in digital power electronics and topologies such as buck, boost, flyback, and resonant converters (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of embedded C programming, real-time debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with Microchip development environments, firmware libraries, and toolchains.
  • Working knowledge of signal chain processing and feedback systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in C programming; familiarity with Python, Assembly, Visual Studio, Visual Basic, etc.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for system modeling and control simulation.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for technical documentation and presentations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with a customer-centric approach and ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong presentation skills with experience in delivering public seminars, technical talks, and customer-focused workshops.
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
