The responsibility of the Facilities Project Manager is to effectively execute on all projects involving an ever growing controls and monitoring infrastructure to include, but not limited to, environmental monitoring and gas monitoring systems. This includes equipment installations, laboratory renovations, modernization and deferred maintenance projects. The primary job functions include all aspects of project management for facilities construction projects to include planning, scheduling, communication, documentation, coordination of multiple company departments and contractors. The Facilities PM will work closely with the company’s EH&S and Security departments.
Essential Duties:
This position requires an individual that is professional, outgoing, proactive and highly organized. This position will interface with all departments of the company. The ideal candidate can perform effectively in a fast-paced environment where multitasking and prioritizing is essential. Responsibilities in this position will include additional tasks such as training contractors to the company’s Contractor Safety Program, writing requests for quotes, managing lien releases, submitting purchase requisitions, and creating visitor requests. Effective collaboration with City and/or County Officials in the Planning, Building & Safety, Fire Marshal Departments to supply essential documents for permitting.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years demonstrated experience as a project manager who has working knowledge of building infrastructure related to Facilities Management Systems (FMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), building automation and controls, etc. Strong organizational skills are required as the range of department projects and priorities may change quickly. Must have exceptional customer service skills. Outgoing self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, follow-through and multi-tasking. This position will routinely exercise independent judgement and discretion with high-visibility departmental projects. Must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently in a dynamic environment; ability to change direction, remain flexible and respond quickly. Must be able to communicate with multiple departments including IT, Technical Staff, Manufacturing, and Operations.
Desired Skills:
Desired candidate must have experience as a project manager. The ability to analyze and write standard facilities documents such as one lines and drawings. A working knowledge of standard facilities equipment such as HVAC, process cooling water, etc. Experience with laboratory requirements and construction a plus. Preparation of design drawings and specifications. Managing contractors through all phases of construction including quality inspections and verification of work product. Computer skills using Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and AutoCAD is required. Experience with Sharepoint, Visio and Project is desired, but will train. Will be required to learn additional custom software packages used by the departments.
Knowledge of project management procedures and protocols. Working knowledge of standard engineering drawings and specifications, coordination with facilities maintenance teams, engineering/architectural firms and contractors. Ability to document specifications and proposals for bidding. Project Management knowledge and training is required. Knowledge of project organization protocols including software. Knowledge of laboratory protocols and safety desired. General knowledge with multiple hardware platforms including Siemens, Rockwell Automation, GE, Idec, and Koyo is desired. Familiar with sensor technology and communication platforms such as Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP, BACnet, TCP/IP and Device net is preferred. Niagra tridium is a plus.
Required Education:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or commensurate experience related to controls, PLCs, and various hardware and software platforms.
Physical Requirements:
This position will require both office work, such as computer work and meetings, and access to all areas of the campus. Must have the ability to access all locations of the company property. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with people and have a focus on customer service for internal customers.
Special Requirements:
Security clearance preferred. Able to work flexible hours and weekend work may apply depending on project requirements. U.S. citizen or permanent resident status required.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,715 - $150,895 + bonus + benefits.
