The Role

Swarm Aero is redefining air power, building the largest swarming UAV and most versatile swarming aircraft network in the world. The company is moving quickly to launch the first aircraft designed specifically for swarming as well as the Command & Control software to mobilize swarms of thousands of heterogeneous autonomous assets and empower human operators to achieve superhuman results.

The team has created and exited multiple startups, negotiated defense deals worth billions of dollars and designed and built 30+ novel aircraft, with aerospace experience from Scaled Composites, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin, and Boom Supersonic.

The Role

You'll own all facilities operations across our Oxnard footprint: hangar space, a new manufacturing facility, and our main office. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You'll manage vendors, lead maintenance and repair operations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and build the infrastructure systems that let our engineering and manufacturing teams do their best work. Occasional travel to our other locations is part of the job as we scale. If something's broken or behind, that's yours to fix.

What You'll Do

  • Manage day-to-day operations across hangars, manufacturing floor, and office facilities
  • Own preventive maintenance programs for building systems, equipment, and specialized aerospace-adjacent infrastructure
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers across all trades (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, custodial)
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including OSHA, fire codes, and any applicable FAA or airport authority requirements tied to hangar operations
  • Manage facility budgets, track spend, and own cost forecasting for capital improvements and repairs
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, and Engineering teams on space planning, buildouts, and facility modifications
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, safety protocols, and security procedures
  • Support equipment installation and facility readiness as manufacturing capacity scales
  • Maintain accurate records for inspections, permits, maintenance logs, and vendor contracts
  • Identify and lead improvement projects that increase operational efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Travel occasionally to Swarm Aero's other locations (Fayetteville, AR) to support facilities needs, audits, or buildouts as the company scales

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of facilities management experience, ideally with mixed-use sites including industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing hangar, warehouse, or large-format industrial space strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, access control
  • Familiarity with OSHA compliance, permitting processes, and contractor management
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize across multiple competing demands without dropping the ball
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where the org chart is still being drawn
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support multi-site operations
  • Relevant certifications a plus: CFM, FMP, or equivalent

Compensation: $100,000 - $160,000 + Equity

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and trustworthy work environment, Swarm Aero conducts a thorough screening of prospective employees. Candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background verification process as a prerequisite for employment.
