POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the FOH management, the primary duty of the Support Staff is providing assistance to other FOH team. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean tables, taking plates, utensils, etc. to the kitchen to be washed.
  • Help remove plates while the guests are still seated at the table.
  • Maintain sanitization standards.
  • Check under the table and surrounding floor area and sweep up any crumbs or litter.
  • Set and re-set tables.
  • Fill and clean condiments as needed. 
  • Assist fellow team members with guest services. Serve water and refill glasses when needed.
  • Assisted staff with trash removal, assist in cleaning up spills.
  • Greet guests in the absence of the hostess.
  • Make suggestions about menu selections when asked.
  • Occasional food and beverage service.
  • Maintain a neat, organized workstation environment.
  • Greeting guests as they approach.
  • Provide guests with accurate wait time estimates during busy periods.
  • Assigning guests to tables they request, while maintaining a consistent table rotation.
  • Must maintain knowledge of the menus.
  • Answer phone calls with proper salutations and etiquette.
  • Communicating all guests’ complaints to F&B Leadership, resolved or not.
  • All other duties assigned by F&B Management.
Qualifications

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to stand for an entire 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to carry out tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in several areas.
  • Must be able to do the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Able to work in a busy restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge and commitment to use proper sanitation and food handling procedures as outlined in casino and department handbook, HACCP and OSHA.
  • Must be able to complete the 90-day introductory period in consecutive days as scheduled.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Written and verbal understanding of English.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent (required).

CERTIFICATE & LICENSES:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Cahuilla Gaming License and submit to random drug/and or alcohol testing.
  • Ability to obtain a California State Driver’s License.
  • Ability to complete necessary Casino Essentials courses to carry out the job responsibilities.
  • Food Handler Card (required).
  • TIP Certified (required).

  • While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and required to move about he Casino floor and exposed to a non-smoke free environment.
  • Cahuilla Casino Hotel is committed to a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Any job offer is conditional upon successful passing of a pre-employment drug test and must qualify for a Cahuilla Gaming License, which includes an extensive background security check.
  • If none of the applicants should meet the stated qualifications, applicants whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements, may be interviewed and hired provided the applicant hired submits a formal written training plan within (30) thirty days which can be completed within a reasonable time agreed upon by the supervisor and the applicant. Applicants who are hired and fail t meet the agreed upon formal training program, will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as so scheduled.
  • A drug test will be required prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
