The Boeing Company is seeking a F/A-18 Senior Instructor Pilot to support Boeing Global Services in Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base, Kuwait. This role will provide Contractor Instructor Services to the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) as part of a Foreign Military Sales contract.
The Primary training site is at Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base, Kuwait, while travel may be required to include, but not limited to, attending NATOPS and safety-related conferences on behalf of the customer.
This is a Long-Term Assignment to Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base, Kuwait for up to 5 years. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provides flight, simulator, and academic instruction to KAF pilots in customer-owned F/A-18E/F Block III Super Hornet aircraft
- Conducts familiarization, qualification, upgrade, standardization, flight, and ground instruction in support of customer courses ranging from CAT I to advanced training, including air-to-air gunnery, air-to-ground strike, day/night in-flight refueling, and day/night low-level training
- Maintains aircrew training materials and courseware
- Assists the customer operations and training staff in development of aircrew instructional philosophy, syllabi, evaluation criteria, and approaches for standardizing training materials, delivery, and training standards
- Performs as Subject Matter Expert for courseware maintenance support
- Assists the KAF in building aircraft, employment, and weapons briefings to support KAF continuation training
- Establishes qualifications and training standards
- Job requires completion of appropriate KAF F/A-18 Block III differences training or transition in the aircraft
- Act as a liaison between Boeing and Boeing subcontractor personnel on administrative matters related to tasks ranging from residency and immigration actions to Base access.
- Interface with the end customer (Kuwait Air Force) on pilot and ground training specialist scheduling and availability and communicate time-sensitive information across the in-country F-18 Contractor Instructional Services team.
- Provide the site manager with sortie and simulator completion metrics and status of qualifications on a monthly basis.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base, Kuwait. There may be additional U.S.-based training in advance of international relocation to Kuwait.
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 800 hours+ Pilot-In-Command and/or Instructor Pilot time in the F/A-18 aircraft or equivalent fighter aircraft
- 8+ years of military flying experience
- Current F/A-18 NATOPS or equivalent qualification
- Compliance with CNAF-M 3710.7 standards, including required recurrent swim physiology and hypoxia training, and meeting F/A-18 anthropometric requirements for ejection-seat aircraft
- Pilot wings attained through a US Navy, Marine Corps or USAF approved undergraduate pilot training program
- Completion of a US Navy, Marine Corps or USAF high-performance fighter certification program
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- A combination of F/A-18C and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet experience or equivalent
- F/A-18 Fleet Replacement Squadron Instructor Pilot or equivalent
- F/A-18 Division Lead or equivalent
- Top Gun Weapons and Tactics Instructor or equivalent
- Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System Instructor
Long-term Assignment details:
- Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country
- Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable
- Employment is contingent on the candidate's ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country
Contingent Upon Quota Availability:
This position is contingent upon the release of an immigration quota by the Kuwait Ministry of the Interior.
