Overview

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Supervisor, Extrusion at our Leetonia, OH location.  The Supervisor, Extrusion oversees the Press Team including: Press Team Apprentices, Press Team, Press Operators, and Press General Foreman. The Supervisor, Extrusion develops and implements production plans and schedules to ensure efficiency.  This position drives efficiency to ensure quality standards are met. This position leads and supervises, develops, and disciplines team members.


This position could be either 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am with rotating weekends: must be flexible to work either shift.


Responsibilities
  • Supervision and development of Press Team Apprentices, Press Team, Press Operators, and Press General Foreman positions.

  • Leadership: Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Planning: Production planning and scheduling for the Press Team.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance or engineering, to coordinate overall operations.

  • Quality Control: Monitor and audit quality control measures and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and quality throughout the team.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Identify and report any potential safety hazards or equipment issues. Maintain a clean work environment.

  • Documentation: Review production reports, work orders, job specifications, and quality control records, generated by the Press Team to ensure that the documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with company standards and customer requirements. Work with team members to address and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Analysis: Analyze the Press Team data and documentation to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes as necessary. Present data on the Press Team’s quantity and quality of work to plant management.

  • Communication: Keep open clear line of communication to leadership and direct reports.

  • Motivation: Team member and culture.

  • Time Management: Ensure that all duties and projects are completed timely and effectively.

  • Other duties as needed.
Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  •  Associate’s degree is preferred.

Experience 

  • 4 or more years of experience in an extrusion or similar manufacturing environment is required.

  • 2 or more years of supervisory experience required.

  • Ability to Multitask

  • Basic computer skills

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen

Physical Requirements

 

  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and explosives.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
