Join Maersk as the External Partnerships - Business Development Manager

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and nurturing strategic partnerships that align with an organization’s goals and drive growth. Unlike ad hoc procurement-specific roles, this position focuses more broadly on building partnerships that can support various business functions such as sales, L&S, Direct, Indirect and Chartering Categories. The role is a hybrid between procurement and sales, with a strong commercial drive.
Key responsibilities
1.Identifying Strategic Partnership Opportunities
•Purpose: To discover and evaluate potential partnerships that can provide new revenue streams, enhance brand value, or extend the company's reach.
•Activities:Conducts market research to identify potential partners, assesses their fit with the organization’s goals, and creates a pipeline of promising partnership prospects.
2.Developing Partnership Strategies
•Purpose:Aligns partnership development efforts with the company’s strategic objectives, ensuring they contribute directly to growth, customer acquisition, and competitive advantage.
•Activities:Works with senior management to define partnership goals, create partnership plans, and establish criteria for ideal partners. Sets clear metrics for evaluating the success and ROI of partnerships.
3.Building and Managing Partner Relationships
•Purpose:Cultivates strong, long-term relationships with partners, acting as the main point of contact to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
•Activities:Regularly communicates with partners, coordinates joint projects or campaigns, and addresses any issues or conflicts that arise to keep the partnership healthy and productive.
