As an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Specialist, you will establish and manage Scatec’s centralised EPR compliance framework in South Africa. You will help ensure compliance with the National Environmental Management: Waste Act (2008), applicable EPR Regulations, and sector-specific notices covering electronics, batteries, packaging and lighting. Working across business functions, you will strengthen the tracking of imported products from market entry through to end-of-life, close compliance gaps, and build a consolidated reporting system that supports accurate, auditable reporting.

In this role, you will take ownership of EPR compliance, product lifecycle tracking and reporting, including:

• Lead Scatec’s compliance with applicable Waste Act and EPR requirements, translating regulatory obligations into practical operational controls.
• Establish and manage a centralised system to track imported products across their full lifecycle, from market entry to end-of-life outcomes.
• Consolidate and validate data from Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, Environmental, and Finance teams for accurate EPR reporting.
• Maintain complete, auditable registers of imported equipment, packaging, batteries, lighting and associated waste streams.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports in line with applicable government requirements and reporting deadlines.
• Evaluate and manage Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) participation or internal compliance structures.
• Assess existing tracking processes, identify compliance gaps, and implement improved systems and controls.
• Support financial planning, fee forecasting, audits and governance relating to EPR obligations.

Your work will give Scatec a reliable view of its EPR obligations and product lifecycle data, helping teams make informed decisions and manage end-of-life responsibilities.

• Ownership of a centralised EPR compliance framework within a global renewable energy business.
• Practical experience connecting regulatory requirements, product lifecycle data and operational processes.
• Broader commercial understanding through EPR fee forecasting, financial planning and audit support.
• Close collaboration with colleagues across Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, Environmental, and Finance.

• A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Environmental Management, Law or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in data-intensive reporting, compliance, or ESG/EPR-related roles.
• Strong data management skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience designing or improving systems and processes across multiple business functions.
• The ability to interpret regulatory or legal requirements and translate them into practical operational controls.
• An analytical mindset, financial acumen and excellent attention to detail.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience engaging with government authorities or regulatory stakeholders.
• The ability to work independently and across functions, troubleshoot problems, manage deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks under pressure.
• Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering, utilities or manufacturing environments is advantageous.
