The Extended Day Proctor provides supervision for a program of after school care for lower school and middle school students from 3:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday when school is in session. The program could also include scheduled half-day and/or full-day sessions when lower school/middle school is not in session, but school is open. This is a permanent part-time position of up to 15 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits.
Duties & QualificationsPrimary Responsibilities
- Assist with the development, coordination, and conducting of an engaging after-school program consisting of supervised play (both outdoor and indoor), study/homework time, creative activities, and snacks for lower/middle school students
- Conduct activities as prescribed in the program
- Interact with the children to support play and learning activities
- Provide supervision and classroom management for students in the program
- Assist in the purchase of supplies and materials needed for the program
- Maintain an enrollment system for the Extended Day (School Year) program
- Manage sign-in/out sheets
- Monitor and help track students signing in and out for music lessons and enrichment activities and communicate with music teachers and enrichment program providers
- Supervise daily snack time
Qualifications
- Personal attributes include the ability to adapt quickly to ever-changing group dynamics settings, must be friendly and even-tempered.
- Must have documented experience in providing child care and/or experience in an educational/social science field.
- Work/volunteer experience in an educational setting is preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Other Requirements
- Ability to lift and move boxes of files, office supplies, materials, etc. up to 25 lbs. as needed
- First Aid/ CPR Certification or willingness to take 6-hour certification course
