Sedgman is proud to be part of the QRCUF project based in Townsville.

Located at the Cleveland Bay Industrial Park, QRCUF will be the first facility of its kind in Australia, providing a centralised hub where companies can trial mineral processing techniques, produce mineral samples at scale, and accelerate their path to market.

As QRCUF transitions into its next phase, Sedgman is seeking expressions of interest from experienced process operators to join a unique and evolving facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate fixed and mobile plant safely to meet operational and client requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections of fixed plant including screens, crushers, feeders and filters.
  • Operate and inspect mobile equipment used in site operations.
  • Carry out basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs to fixed plant.
  • Manage consumable levels, including reagents, lime, flocculant, diesel and chemicals.
  • Monitor and adjust process parameters such as density, pH, temperature, sump levels and dosing rates.
  • Identify and contribute improvement ideas to support safe and efficient operations.

Required Experience:

  • Trade qualified with an Australian‑recognised Electrical or Mechanical qualification (preferred).
  • We will also consider non‑trade qualified Operators with relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience in mineral processing and fixed plant operations.
  • Confident working in control room environments, including flotation processes.
  • Mobile equipment experience (loader, skid steer, forklift) advantageous but not essential.
  • Committed to working safely and in line with established procedures.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and adapt priorities as required.
