Job Description

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and motivated Farm Managers who are looking for their next opportunity in Tasmania.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a hands-on leadership role within a well-established farming operation, overseeing day-to-day farm activities while contributing to the ongoing performance, development and success of the business.

About the opportunity

As Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of the farm, people, livestock and resources. You will play a key role in ensuring the operation is safe, productive and commercially successful.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing the farm team to achieve operational and performance objectives
  • Managing day-to-day livestock, pasture and farm operations
  • Planning and coordinating seasonal activities and workloads
  • Monitoring animal health, welfare and production outcomes
  • Managing farm resources, equipment, contractors and suppliers
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and environmental management
  • Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability
  • Working closely with senior management to deliver business and operational goals
  • Maintaining accurate farm records and reporting on key performance indicators

    Qualifications

    About you

    We are looking for someone who is practical, commercially minded and passionate about agriculture, with the leadership capability to take ownership of a significant farming operation.

    You will ideally have:

    • Proven experience in a Farm Manager or senior farm leadership role
    • Strong livestock and/or dairy farming experience
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop a team
    • Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
    • A strong understanding of animal welfare, farm safety and compliance
    • The ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
    • A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in all aspects of the operation
    • A genuine commitment to continuous improvement and achieving strong farm outcomes
