Job Summary:  

The Export Compliance Specialist will support our export compliance program by conducting detailed analysis of export transactions, performing regulatory research, and assisting with compliance assessments. This role focuses on the analytical aspects of export control compliance, including data analysis, regulatory interpretation, and supporting documentation review under the guidance of senior export control professionals. 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze export transactions for compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC and FTR regulations 
  • Perform advanced export classifications analysis of hardware, software and technology (ECCN and Schedule B)  
  • Evaluate and approve export transactions and compliance determinations 
  • Perform third-party due diligence assessments and determine escalation or mitigation actions 
  • Review export documentation for accuracy and completeness 
  • Prepare, submit, and manage export license applications including regulatory rationale 
  • Serve as an advisor to internal stakeholders  
  • Monitor Federal Register notices and agency guidance for compliance updates  
  • Maintain current knowledge of export control lists, country groups, and licensing policies 
  • Maintain and update export control databases and tracking systems 
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and potential compliance issues 
  • Support audit activities by preparing documentation and analysis reports 
  • Prepare regulatory reports for BIS filings  
  • Perform restricted party screening using screening tools (Visual Compliance or OCR EASE) and government databases 
  • Analyze shipping routes and intermediary parties for compliance concerns 
  • Support investigations and resolution of potential compliance issues 
  • Maintain export control records and documentation 
  • Support in the development, implementation, dissemination, and maintenance of internal compliance procedures 
  • Support the preparation and delivery of compliance training on export control topics. 
  • Support key trade compliance initiatives and projects as required. 
  • Maintain expertise in international trade regulatory areas i.e. EAR, ITAR, CBP, FTR, OFAC, FTA, and global trade regulations.  


Requirements
  • 6+ years of work experience of export control regulations EAR, OFAC, ITAR) and operations 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Business or related field or equivalent experience 
  • Knowledge of international trade documentation, shipping processes, and Incoterms 
  • Strong analytical and research skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently interpret and apply export control regulations 
  • Strong expertise in export classification, licensing, and regulatory risk assessment 
  • Demonstrates strong personal integrity and manages confidential matters with professionalism, exercising sound judgment and maturity at all times. 
  • Proficiency with SNAP-R, ACE and enterprise screening tools 
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio 
  • Knowledge of encryption controls 
  • Knowledge of EU dual-use export control regulation  
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment  
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills 
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgment on matters of regulatory significance 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise and influence stakeholders 

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $84,800 - $101,700 per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.

Skills Required
