Gearbox Software est à la recherche d’un expert concepteur technique en animation. Le rôle consiste principalement à développer de nouveau système d’animation dans l’engin et supporter les outils déjà en place. De travailler avec l’équipe d’animation pour améliorer les pipelines, la planification du contenu et l’efficience général du travail.

Responsabilités :

  • Créer et maintenir les blueprint d’animation / state machine / data character.
  • Éditer les blend d’animations.
  • Établir, documenté et designer des systèmes pour faciliter l’animation.
  • Collaborer avec les designer et animateur pour maintenir les meilleurs pratiques et l’efficience.
  • Support de l’intégration du contenu avec les autres départements, incluent les équipes Missions, Systems et Gameplay.
  • Prototyper et recherché des nouveaux systèmes d’animation pour l’équipe d’animation et design.
  • Communiquer et travailler de pair avec les programmeurs gameplay et engin pour développer de nouveaux systèmes de nouvelle génération.
  • Identifier les améliorations potentielles et agir pour les réaliser.

Qualifications :

  • Familiarité avec les systèmes d’animations retrouvés dans les engins de jeu.
  • Familiarité avec les pipelines d’animations de la conception du mesh à l‘intégration des assets finaux.
  • Capacité à interagir et travailler avec des équipes connexes.
  • Habilité à développer des systèmes de la conception à l’intégration finale.
  • Une attitude positive et l’habilité à recevoir des retours constructifs sur la présentation et le « game feel »

Bonus :

  • Expérience avec les systèmes d’animation d’Unreal
  • Connaissance en programmation Python ou C++
  • Expérience avec Maya ou Motion Builder
  • Expérience en capture de mouvement
  • Forte balance entre vision créative et compétences techniques

Gearbox Software is looking for an Expert Technical Design Animator with a passion for pushing character animation fidelity in games to new levels. This role primarily focuses on developing new animation features in-engine and providing ongoing support for current tech and working to create improved pipeline and planning practices with animation to improve overall content efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Create & maintain animation blueprints / state machines / character data
  • Tune blending for gameplay animations.
  • Break-down, and document, design features into easy to animate content.
  • Work with Designers and Animators to maintain/monitor best practices and optimal workflows.
  • Support animation content implementation with other departments including Missions, Systems, and Gameplay teams.
  • Research & prototype new animation systems for use by Animation and Design teams.
  • Communicate and work closely with Gameplay and Engine Programmers to develop new features needed to deliver highly polished, sophisticated presentations.
  • Document system functionality and breakdowns for use by future employees or other teams.
  • Identify potential pipeline improvements and act to improve them.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with animation systems including blending, warping, layering, synched choreography, and state machines.
  • Needs to be familiar with animation pipelines from mesh to implementation of final assets.
  • Able to collaborate and work well with teams from various disciplines.
  • Ability to own a feature from pitch and documentation to prototype and final implementation.
  • A positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback on areas of game feel and presentation.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience in Unreal Animation Systems
  • Programming Capability in Python, MEL, or C++
  • Experience in Maya and Motion Builder Animation Systems
  • Experience with mocap systems and software such as Vicon Blade
  • Strong balance of creative/visual aesthetics and technical skills.
