Job Description

  • Actively contribute to the design and continuous improvement of workplaces, work processes, and the working environment, with a strong focus on occupational safety and health

  • Lead and support the development and implementation of new work procedures and workflows, ensuring compliance with occupational safety, health, and accident prevention regulations

  • Conduct safety-related inspections and tests of operating systems, technical equipment, work processes, and safety installations (e.g. sprinkler systems, extraction systems, fire extinguishers)

  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements (occupational safety, accident prevention, equipment safety, chemicals legislation) into practical operational measures and ensure compliance through audits, inspections, and site reviews

  • Perform accident, incident, and damage investigations, analyze root causes, and compile meaningful statistics and reports

  • Develop and manage the documentation, evaluation, and reporting of work accidents, including recommendations and action plans to improve working conditions and eliminate hazards

  • Promote a proactive safety culture by organizing internal awareness campaigns, safety communications, trainings, and workshops; support the qualification and development of safety officers

  • Prepare and conduct internal audits as part of the occupational safety management system, where required

  • Collaborate closely with HR, the company physician, and the works council on all occupational safety and accident prevention matters

  • Act as the main contact for external authorities and institutions, such as labor inspectorates, fire authorities, and professional associations, including participation in inspections and audits

  • Support the development of alarm, rescue, and emergency response systems, as well as fire protection concepts and organizational measures

  • Participate in meetings, professional forums, safety events, and expert committees, ensuring knowledge exchange and continuous improvement

  • Prepare monthly and annual safety reports, and manage safety-related documentation and specialist literature

  • Oversee and maintain operational safety management software, including system administration and user training

  • Prepare, attend, and contribute to Occupational Safety Committee meetings

Qualifications

Your Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • In-depth expertise in occupational safety and health, including workplace design, risk analysis, accident prevention, and safe work practices

  • Hands-on experience with an Occupational Health & Safety Management System in line with ISO 45001 (minimum 2 years)

  • Proven experience in planning, organizing, and conducting internal and external audits

  • Confident user of standard IT tools (MS Office and comparable systems)

  • Experience working with operational safety management software

  • Very good written and spoken foreign language skills
