**This is a hybrid position with an onsite requirement in one of our office locations: Oakland, CA; Rancho Cordova, CA; Alpharetta, GA; or San Francisco, CA.
The Expert Applications Architect will be responsible for the design and analysis of software projects, coordination, creation and socialization of the conceptual approach document on strategic business initiatives, documentation standards, system architecture best practices and current system architecture documentation for their respective domain. The position is also responsible for collaborating with partner teams, enterprise architecture and development teams on best practices, guidelines and standards as well as evangelizing Technology transformation initiatives. This position is responsible for providing expertise and direction to Leadership when discussing strategic projects, design and application initiatives as well as providing high level estimates for the purpose of business case creation.
- 7+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of technical/functional design experience related to application implementation and software development.
- 5+years of experience with software design/development resulting in strong knowledge of application frameworks.
- Expert level technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation.
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise platform solutions, including platform architecture, deployment, operations, automation, and lifecycle management.
- Experience architecting and integrating enterprise applications using APIs, service-oriented architectures, and shared platform services.
- Experience with content management and document management platforms; experience with Alfresco or similar enterprise content management solutions preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, cloud architecture, networking, and platform services.
- Demonstrated ability to lead solution design from architecture and technical design through implementation, deployment, and operational support.
- Experience developing architectural standards, solution roadmaps, deployment topologies, and enterprise platform strategies.
- Ability to balance deep technical expertise with a broad platform-oriented mindset across multiple business domains and technology platforms.
- Experience collaborating with application development, platform engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable enterprise solutions.
- Understanding of platform adoption, onboarding, change management, and strategies that enable successful consumption of enterprise services and platforms.

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
