Experienced Software Engineer with frontend focus

We are currently looking for an experienced software engineer with a frontend focus to join our Web Video Operation department in Linköping.

Who is your future team?

We are the team developing the web client for AXIS Camera Station, available in two flavours catering to the need of accessing the video management system either through the internet or within a private network. The client is used by operators who consume and make use of surveillance information, with its foundation in video and analytic data. The feature set is fast growing, and we have a lot of exciting challenges ahead as we continue evolving the product. As a team, we take end-to-end responsibility for our software services — from development and testing through to deployment and maintenance.

At Axis in Linköping, we work in small teams where all team members share and collaborate on all tasks. To facilitate this, we believe in methods that encourage close collaboration and learning from each other. Ensemble and pair programming are two examples of how we work today.

What you'll do here as an Experienced Software Engineer

As part of the team, you will participate as a dedicated team member in everyday teamwork and take an active part in designing the architecture of the product. The role involves a great deal of communication — with different stakeholders and with other development teams — so you will rarely be working in isolation.

Together with your colleagues, you will drive the continuous improvement of our development methodology, including how we approach testing. AI-assisted development is a natural part of how we work and explore new possibilities, and you will be part of shaping how the team makes the most of it. We are always learning and searching for new ways to improve how we work, and we would love for you to bring your own ideas into that conversation.

Who We Are Looking For

Besides having a genuine personal interest in software development and really enjoying sharing your knowledge, we would love to see that you have:

• Experience of AI-assisted development — whether from a previous role or from experimenting on your own time

• 5+ years of work experience in software development, including bringing software products to market

• Solid experience of building frontend applications, and in particular React

• An understanding of backend development 

• Understanding or experience of CI/CD and cloud-deployed solutions

• A relevant engineering degree, for example within Computer Science or similar

It is meriting if you also have:

• Experience of testing and test automation

• Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, Go and FluentUI

• Experience of streaming media through WebRTC

• Interest in full stack development and quality assurance across a broad range of technologies and deployment environments
