About the RoleWe are looking for a confident, high-calibre Experienced Optical Assistant to join our dedicated team.
In this role, you will be a key pillar on the practice floor, delivering brilliant patient experiences from the moment someone walks through the door. Because this is an experienced role, you’ll be hands-on across all aspects of dispensing and practice flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispensing Expertise: Confidately dispensing frames and lenses at all levels—including complex prescriptions, bifocals, and progressive/varifocal lenses tailored to the patient’s lifestyle.
Patient Journey Support: Guiding patients through frame styling, pre-screening testing, and fitting/adjustments with care and attention to detail.
Front-of-House Excellence: Greeting patients, managing appointments, handling patient queries, and keeping the front-of-house running smoothly.
Team Collaboration: Working closely with our optometrists and practice team to ensure seamless handovers and top-tier clinical care.
What We’re Looking For:
Solid experience working as an Optical Assistant in an optometry practice.
Proven ability to dispense complex lenses and offer confident frame styling advice.
Great interpersonal skills—warm, approachable, and articulate.
Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for quality and precision.
