This position requires strong technical expertise in digital design, communication protocols, and self-motivation to drive projects from concept to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize FPGA implementations for control and communication applications using industry-standard hardware description languages (Verilog preferred)
  • Architect and implement high-speed communication protocols including line-to-line and chip-to-chip communication interfaces
  • Develop SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) controllers and asynchronous communication modules operating up to 100 Mbps
  • Integrate Ethernet connectivity and MAC layer functionality into FPGA designs
  • Collaborate with embedded, hardware and PCB design teams to ensure seamless board-level integration
  • Design PCB layouts for FPGA peripheral ICs and related components
  • Perform hands-on PCB-level testing, design validation, and debugging
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and verification strategies for FPGA designs
  • Create detailed technical documentation including design specifications, timing diagrams, and implementation reports
  • Perform timing analysis, simulation, and synthesis to optimize design performance and resource utilization
  • Work independently on assigned projects while maintaining quality standards and project schedules
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge with the team
Requirements
  • BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience
  • Proficiency in Verilog
  • Demonstrated experience with SPI and serial communication protocols
  • Strong understanding of digital design principles, timing closure, and resource optimization
  • Experience with chip-to-chip and board-level communication interfaces
  • Knowledge of asynchronous communication design and implementation
  • Familiarity with FPGA synthesis and place-and-route tools
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem-solving and technical documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Ethernet MAC integration and high-speed serial protocols (GigE, 10GbE)
  • Hands-on experience with board design and PCB layout considerations for high-speed signals
  • Experience with power management and low-latency control systems
  • Knowledge of hardware security and encrypted communication protocols
  • Experience with simulation and testing tools
  • Familiarity with agile development practices
  • Previous experience in the renewable energy or power electronics industry

Skills Required

  • B.Sc. in Electrical engineering
  • At least 3-year experience in power electronics
  • 3+ years of experience in circuit design and HW board design
  • Knowledge in Analog circuits and Op Amps behavior
  • Proven experience working with lab equipment
