We're seeking someone to join our Real Estate Finance team as a Director in Finance, Planning & Analytics (FP&A) to play a key leadership role in the financial management of the firm's approximately $1.9 Billion occupancy expense. The individual will collaborate with and be a trusted advisor to the Corporate Services real estate team. Project work includes supporting the integration of new technology initiatives and driving enhanced/improved models.
In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is a Director level position within the Financial Planning & Analysis job family which is responsible for the firm’s budget, forecast, internal management reporting and financial analysis to provide insight into the firm’s current and expected financial performance. Additional responsibilities include expense allocation. FP&A is a contributor to the Firm’s CCAR process.

What you'll do in the role:
- Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
- Responsible for and lead a significant set of deliverables, leveraging advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment
- Proactively identify emerging risks in individual and department work and contribute to strategies for mitigating them
- Act as a role model and culture carrier; Embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards
- Analyze the global corporate real estate portfolio expense and present recommendations to leadership to improve financials and highlight savings opportunities.
- Support strategic decision making by providing in-depth financial analysis on complex real estate transactions including sale/leaseback, dispositions, consolidations, acquisitions, renewals, and subleases.
- Manage multi-year financial plans for Morgan Stanley's real estate portfolio by partnering with Corporate Services to include updated strategic and operating plans.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment
- Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and acknowledge efforts of team members
- Ability to articulate risk and impact to various audiences, and create plans to mitigate those risks
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance or related business field
- At least 8 years relevant experience would be generally expected to find the skill level for this role.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, ability to drill through to root cause of issues.
- Expert level knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to easily synthesize data for reporting to senior management.
- Strong interpersonal collaboration and team skills including working with cross-functional teams - proven flexibility, adaptability, and reliability.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $90,000 and $155,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
