Summary of the role:
Responsible of implement, from beginning to end, all the portfolio of investment capital projects (CAPEX), primarily related to infrastructure improvements, capacity/growth, lay out modifications, machinery and major equipment acquisitions. Responsible for time, budget, stakeholders’ communication and scope compliance of CAPEX projects execution.
The Expansions Project Leader coordinates the steps required to fully implement CAPEX projects in the facility, where the main ones are as follows: equipment installation, equipment lay out, project scope definition, contractor bidding, RFQ process, logistics follow up, contractor work, safety execution, budget management, timing management, budget estimations, CAPEX requests, payments follow up (Cash paid and Carryover)
Accountabilities
- Lead capital investment projects, primarily related to infrastructure improvements, capacity/growth, lay out modifications, machinery and major equipment.
- Execute projects assigned on time, scope and budget. All of them with quality and safety.
- Clearly understands the procurement policies and works cross functionally with Supply chain & Finance departments to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Interacts with other departments (Supply chain, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, SHEA, Finance, Compliance, IT) to insure proper execution, scope and compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Develop projects’ budget and preparation of CAPEX projects’ scope and financial justifications.
- Tracks, manages and communicates capital budget and spending to management and stakeholeders.
- Demonstrates the ability to assess risk and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
- Clearly understands Flowserve´s safety policies to assure a total safety environment and assure follow of them by contractors and suppliers.
- Pitch suppliers and contractors to achieve projects’ deadlines and goals under applicable policies.
- Point of contact for civil works contractors during execution phases, preparation of scope of supply, tracking of progress and coordination with other areas for execution.
- Lay out generation and proposal for the different stages and phases for the projects assigned, focused on: machinery installations, capacity expansion/growth and lay outs improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechatronic, Manufacturing or related).
- Minimum experience of 4-5 years in supervision/leader roles supporting facilities maintenance/expansions of industrial factories and/or capital projects implementation for industrial factories.
- Industrial process solid background: machining, assembly, material flow.
- Proven experience of implement safety work policies with contractors.
- English required, full professional competency (technical and business)
- Proven experience in lay out generation/modifications.
- 2D CAD software (autocad/draftsight)
- MS office suite (excel, word, powerpoint).
