Introduction

As Expansion Project Coordinator, you will hold a strategic procurement role focused on securing a competitive supply of manufacturing equipment and services for GlobalFoundries’ Dresden operations. You will collaborate closely with Operations to define requirements and with the broader Global Supply Management team to leverage the global supply base, commercial expertise, technical knowledge, and best practices.

A key focus of this position is equipment-related capital expenditure (CAPEX), particularly the coordination and execution of our fab expansion sourcing activities to support timely, competitive, and well-aligned procurement decisions.

Your Job

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for CAPEX equipment and services in alignment with expansion milestones, budgets, and global commodity objectives.
  • Serve as the primary commercial interface with equipment suppliers, driving capacity commitments, delivery schedules, technical alignment, and supplier development.
  • Lead local commercial negotiations and support global negotiations for equipment purchases, installation services, warranties, and long-term support agreements.
  • Use strategic sourcing and analytical tools—including Power BI, cleansheeting, and negotiation planners—to evaluate costs, track commitments, and support investment decisions.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial, supply, schedule, and capacity risks that could affect fab-expansion milestones.
  • Resolve project-specific supply issues in collaboration with Operations, Industrial Engineering, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage contractual agreements, change orders, claims, and renegotiate project-specific commercial and technical objectives.
  • Monitor and communicate sourcing progress, savings, risks, supplier commitments, and key decisions to project leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all procurement activities support applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and regulatory requirements throughout the expansion project.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration and/or relevant field of study
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in an industrial environment
  • Good command of English and German, both written and verbal (C1)
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a structured manner
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally including Singapore and USA from time to time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of materials and/or their application in semiconductor manufacturing, quality requirements and related supply base
  • Proficiency in sourcing related skills including sourcing strategy development and execution, contract management and supplier performance management
  • Ability to lead projects and cross-functional teams
