This position is focused primarily on daily exhibition operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, event support, and technical improvements that help keep the exhibition safe, functional, reliable, and creatively aligned with the guest experience.

The ideal candidate is a curious and resourceful technical problem-solver with experience in themed entertainment, immersive attractions, creative technology, theater/live entertainment, AV systems, high-end escape rooms, museums, or other guest-facing technical environments. Experience with specific systems is helpful, but the most important qualities are strong troubleshooting skills, comfort working with low-voltage and show control systems, clear documentation habits, and the ability to learn and support existing setups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily checks, troubleshooting, repairs, and resets for guest-facing exhibition technology.

  • Maintain and support lighting, audio, video, projection, show control, networking, low-voltage, and interactive systems.

  • Respond to operating-hour issues and help restore systems quickly and safely.

  • Complete preventive maintenance, inspections, repair tracking, and documentation in the maintenance/task management system.

  • Troubleshoot, configure, test, repair, and replace exhibition technology including computers, controllers, displays, projectors, speakers, lighting equipment, network devices, sensors, and related equipment.

  • Support events through readiness checks, temporary setups, troubleshooting, resets, and post-event repairs.

  • Assist with small upgrades, system improvements, new installations, and sustainment projects.

  • Document system changes, as-builts, software/firmware updates, recurring issues, parts needs, and equipment conditions.

  • Collaborate with Exhibition Technology, Art & Scenic, Facilities, Operations, Events, Creative, vendors, and other partners.

  • Follow safe work practices and keep technical spaces, equipment areas, show closets, and work areas clean, organized, and accessible.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience in exhibition technology, themed entertainment, immersive attractions, creative technology, theater/live entertainment, AV systems, escape rooms, museums, or similar technical environments.

  • Experience troubleshooting technical systems in a live, guest-facing, production, or operational environment.

  • Familiarity with show control, low-voltage electronics, AV systems, lighting, projection, networking, sensors, or interactive systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, configure, test, and learn existing technical systems.

  • Comfortable using hand tools, basic test equipment, computers, and technical documentation.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, self-management, organization, and documentation skills.

  • Commitment to safe work practices around tools, electrical systems, access equipment, and public-facing environments.

  • Formal education is welcome but not required; equivalent professional experience, technical training, or industry certification may all be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with audio systems such as Q-SYS, Dante, audio DSP, networked audio, or equivalent systems.

  • Experience with lighting and show control systems such as ETC, Paradigm, Mosaic, Eos, or equivalent systems.

  • Experience with video, projection, media servers, displays, playback systems, or computer-based artwork.

  • Experience with creative programming or visual programming environments such as TouchDesigner, Max/MSP, Processing, or equivalent platforms.

  • Experience with physical computing, including microcontrollers, sensors, relays, actuators, motors, or other interactive components.

  • Familiarity with networking concepts, IP-based devices, signal flow, and basic IT troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with software/firmware updates, system backups, version control, or configuration management.

  • Coding or scripting experience such as Python, C/C++, JavaScript, Node-RED, OSC, MIDI, TCP/UDP, or similar.

What We Do

Meow Wolf is an arts and entertainment company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We create immersive and interactive experiences that transport audiences of all ages into fantastic realms of story and exploration. Our permanent installations include Santa Fe’s THEA Award-winning House of Eternal Return, Las Vegas’ Omega Mart, and the new Meow Wolf Denver—now open! Meow Wolf started in 2008 as a small collective of Santa Fe artists sharing an interest in publicly displaying their works and developing their skills together. This collaborative approach blossomed into Meow Wolf's distinctive style of immersive, maximalist environments and multimedia experiences. In 2020, Fast Company named Meow Wolf as one of The World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies, and both House of Eternal Return and Omega Mart have been listed as top immersive experiences by publications such as Time Out, Newsweek, USA Today, and Blooloop. We are legally registered as a public-benefit corporation and certified as a Benefit Corporation, or B Corp. Meow Wolf firmly believes that accomplished artists must be compensated on an equal level with other skilled, in-demand professionals, and that successful businesses must give back to — and participate energetically in — their communities. We actively support innovative, community-focused art and social projects.
