Schedule: Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 4:30pm
Location: Monroe, NY (must be able to float to Newburgh, NY and Middletown, NY as needed)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs a daily visual check of stress testing rooms and equipment for safety and functionality. Troubleshoots all minor equipment problems
- Performs diagnostic checks on AED/defibrillator equipment
- Correctly identifies patients using patient name and date of birth per policy and procedure
- Properly identifies diagnosis and reason for testing. Screens EMR and verifies there is physician order and prescription. Verifies consent is signed by patient
- Screens female patients 55 years old or younger for pregnancy. Screens for breastfeeding
- Properly identifies and achieves target heart rate for each patient undergoing stress testing. Appropriately monitors and stops stress testing based on patient's ECG, verbal, physical and emotional condition and/or physician's order
- Properly identifies patients who are candidates for pharmacological stress testing
- Maintains Radiation Safety and ALARA
- Demonstrates proficiency on patient chest prep and ECG placement. Familiarizes patients with tests to be performed and preparation for the test
- Demonstrates proficiency operating Exercise Testing System (ECG and Treadmill/bicycle)
- Monitors and evaluates patient's vital signs and ECG measurements during and post-procedure. Submits all diagnostic information to ordering or reading physician for interpretation
- Knowledgeable in identifying ECG abnormalities
- Assists cardiology staff in connecting and placing holter monitors on patients. Understands and operates holster analysis software for ECG processing. Downloads holster information, scans ECG data for critical results and recognizes artifacts and removes artifacts from patient's holster report
- Reports and documents all critical results in accordance to practice guidelines
- Performs other tasks as required for the effective and efficient functioning of the Practice when directed to do so by Supervisory and Managerial personnel
- Prepares and connects respiratory mouthpiece for patient and explains breathing maneuvers prior to commencing testing for pulmonary function testing
- Monitors and evaluates patient's physical and emotional condition during PFT/CPET testing and makes appropriate coaching techniques to obtain a quality study

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Basic ECG Interpretation proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology
- Certified Exercise Specialist or Clinical Exercise Physiologist by American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
- 1+ years of clinical experience in a hospital or cardiology practice
- Experience reading/interpreting ECGs
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $24.00 - $43.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
