Saint Mary's Hospital is looking for a Per Diem Exercise Physiologist to join our mission-drive Cardiac Wellness/Rehab team.
This position is responsible for patient assessment, development of individualized exercise prescriptions, monitoring of exercise programs, contributing to program development and patient education for patients of the multi-phase cardiac rehabilitation and related community outreach primary/secondary prevention programs in the Section of Cardiology. The Exercise Physiologist coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
What you will do:
Assists in developing appropriate exercise prescriptions and treatment regimen for an adult population of cardiac rehab patients
Provides comprehensive education regarding exercise and overall health promotion for normal and high risk populations
Functions independently in the exercise laboratory to prepare patients for various forms of exercise testing and perform the exercise tests under the supervision of the cardiologist.
interacts in a positive manner with colleagues and creates a collaborative work environment. Initiates open communication, conveys positive intent, offers assistance.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program of Exercise Physiology Required
Specialization in Cardiac Rehabilitation preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
2 years' experience in providing clinical support and program development in a hospital based Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Program preferred.
Current AHA Basic Life Support certificate.
ACSM and ACLS certification preferred.
Knowledge of basic electrocardiography; assessment of cardiovascular status; knowledge of cardiac pharmacology.
Exercise leadership and patient teaching skills.
