Proactive Health is a national network — over 40 allied health businesses, 450+ locations across Australia. But don't let the scale fool you: at our Noarlunga/Seaford and Aberfoyle clinics, it still feels like a close-knit team, with genuine multidisciplinary collaboration happening every day.
As an Exercise Physiologist here, you'll be part of that team — working alongside physiotherapists, podiatrists, occupational therapists, dietitians and social workers, sharing ideas and coordinating care to get the best outcomes for your clients (and honestly, to make your own job more interesting too).
You'll also get a genuinely varied caseload from day one — DVA, Medicare (EPC), NDIS, Home Care Packages, workers' compensation, and private clients — so no two weeks look quite the same.
About This Role
This is a full-time opportunity to broaden your clinical skills, build your confidence, and make a real difference across a diverse client base. You'll design and deliver tailored exercise programs for people managing chronic disease, recovering from injury or surgery, building functional capacity, or simply wanting to stay independent as they age.
A Week in the Life
- Comprehensive initial assessments — functional testing, health screening, and exercise capacity evaluation.
- Individualised, evidence-based exercise programs delivered across clinic, home, gym and community settings.
- A mixed caseload spanning DVA, Medicare EPC, NDIS, Home Care Packages, workers' compensation and private clients.
- Individual and group sessions, tailored to each client's needs.
- Close collaboration with your allied health team — physios, podiatrists, OTs, dietitians and GPs.
- Regular progress reviews, with programs adjusted to keep clients moving toward meaningful outcomes.
- Clinical documentation that's straightforward and in line with ESSA standards and our governance framework.
- Helping clients build the confidence to manage their own health, long after they leave your session.
Requirements
- Accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with ESSA or eligibility to attain accreditation.
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or Clinical Exercise Physiology.
- Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance or willingness to obtain.
- Current or willingness to obtain National Police Check and any relevant state screening (e.g., NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children Check).
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, program design, and clinical reasoning.
Desirable but not essential:
- Familiarity with multiple funding streams including NDIS, Medicare EPC, Home Care Packages, and workers’ compensation.
- Interest or experience in chronic disease management, pain science, functional rehabilitation, or aged care.
- Experience leading group exercise sessions.
- Previous work experience in private practice or community health settings.
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and liaising with referrers.
- Experience working independently in community settings.
