ABOUT THE POSITION

Black Shamrock is looking for an experienced Executive Producer to lead the product vision and player experience for a major AAA project developed across multiple studios.

This is a senior product leadership role. You will work alongside creative, development and production leaders to define what the game needs to be, who it is for and what great looks like. You will champion the player, challenge the product and help teams make the right decisions throughout development.

You won't own delivery alone. You will partner closely with Development and Production leadership to balance creative ambition and product quality with the realities of scope, budget and schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Own the product vision and player experience, ensuring the game remains focused on its audience, product pillars and quality goals.

  • Act as the senior product leader across multiple studios and disciplines, creating alignment around what the game is trying to achieve and why.

  • Champion the player throughout development, using playtesting, data, market insight and team expertise to inform decisions.

  • Define clear product pillars, quality bars and success criteria that empower teams to make strong, autonomous decisions.

  • Lead major product decisions and trade-offs, protecting the core player experience while balancing scope, budget and schedule.

  • Partner with Creative, Development and Production leadership to turn product ambition into an achievable development strategy.

  • Drive product validation through pre-production, vertical slice and full production, ensuring key assumptions and risks are tested early.

  • Ensure milestones demonstrate meaningful progress in product quality and player experience—not simply content completion.

  • Build trusted relationships with clients and senior stakeholders, influencing product direction and creating confidence in the team's judgement.

  • Establish clear decision ownership across studios and disciplines, enabling autonomy without losing product alignment.

  • Foster a culture of constructive challenge, collaboration and evidence-based decision-making.

  • Represent the product at senior reviews, clearly communicating its current state, key risks, opportunities and the decisions required to make it better.

Qualifications
    • Significant leadership experience on AAA or similarly complex game development projects.

    • Proven experience owning or significantly influencing a game from concept or pre-production through to launch.

    • A strong understanding of players, audiences and how great games deliver against player expectations.

    • Excellent product judgement and the ability to distinguish between what is interesting, what is achievable and what genuinely improves the player experience.

    • Experience defining product pillars, quality bars and success criteria.

    • Strong pre-production and vertical slice experience, with a clear understanding of how to validate product and production risks before full development.

    • The ability to make difficult product decisions and clearly communicate the reasoning behind them.

    • Experience leading and influencing senior creative, technical and production stakeholders.

    • Confidence working with clients, publishers and senior leadership teams.

    • A collaborative, low-ego leadership style that empowers experts while maintaining clear accountability and decision ownership.

    • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating clarity where the path forward is not yet defined.

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to align distributed teams around a shared product vision.
