WPRI 12 News is seeking a dynamic and experienced Morning Executive Producer to join our award‑winning newsroom. We’re looking for a strong leader who brings vision, creativity, and collaboration to elevate our morning newscasts and digital content. This leader works closely with producers, anchors, reporters, directors, photojournalists and news leadership to deliver daily news content. This role requires a proactive leader who can inspire a team, innovate storytelling, and grow audiences on television, web, mobile, and social media.

What You’ll Do:
As Morning Executive Producer, you will oversee news coverage decisions, content production and team development. You will approve scripts to ensure accuracy and maintain our brand promise and editorial standards. You are a problem solver, and a leader in responding to breaking news.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Lead the editorial process for multiple morning newscasts and digital platforms.
* Manage a team of producers and oversee daily newscast production.
* Set and communicate strategic direction for content that aligns with newsroom priorities.
* Review and approve scripts, story treatments, and rundowns.
* Work closely with Reporters and Anchors to develop storytelling and strengthen social media presence.
* Take charge during breaking news, ensuring accurate, urgent, compelling coverage.
* Guide special project development and long‑term planning.
* Recruit, hire, mentor, and schedule producers in partnership with other Executive Producers
* Implement strategies that grow and engage audiences across all platforms.
* Collaborate on social media execution, website updates, and push alerts.
* Foster a supportive, growth‑oriented newsroom culture that encourages teamwork and learning.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, or related field
* Minimum of 4 years’ experience in television news production
* Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with reporters, anchors, photojournalists, producers, and technical teams.
* Highly organized and detail‑oriented
* Excellent verbal, written, and analytical abilities.
* Superior news judgment, journalistic ethics, and understanding of audience expectations.
* Must be able to work an early‑morning schedule.
* Comfortable utilizing state‑of‑the‑art broadcast technology
* Fluency in English; local knowledge is a plus.
