The US Payroll organization is seeking an Executive Payroll Manager (M5) to lead end-to-end executive payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a high-quality employee experience. This role provides leadership to internal team members, oversees vendor execution, directs payroll validations, and leads the Annual Incentive Payment (AIP) process requiring coordination with multiple functional stakeholders.

What You Will Do

Executive Payroll Leadership & Operations

  • Provide strategic oversight and day-to-day leadership of executive payroll operations with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and internal control strength.

  • Manage internal payroll resources and direct vendor partners supporting executive payroll services.

  • Oversee payroll validations, complex audit checks, reconciliations, and issue resolution across all executive payroll components.

  • Ensure consistent documentation, process governance, and readiness for audits and SOX controls.

  • Provide “white glove” service to RTX Executives as needed.

Annual Incentive Payment (AIP) Process Leadership

  • Lead the full AIP cycle including planning, data validation, calculation review, stakeholder alignment, execution, and reconciliation.

  • Partner with Executive Compensation, HR Operations, Finance, Legal, and other business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.

Stakeholder, Vendor, & Compliance Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendor resources, ensuring timely case resolution and service delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international payroll regulations related to executive compensation programs.

  • Provide high-quality support and guidance for inquiries involving complex executive payroll matters.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce risk, enhance controls, and improve the executive payroll experience.

  • Support reporting needs, leadership updates, and governance activities tied to executive payroll operations.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • A Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field or equivalent payroll experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.

  • Extensive experience in US payroll operations, including executive or complex compensation processing.

  • Experience leading teams and/or managing vendor partners.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP GlobalView, ADP EV5, or similar platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll calculations, executive compensation elements, taxation, and payroll controls.

  • Proven ability to analyze payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and manage confidential high-visibility processes.

  • Experience supporting or leading annual incentive or bonus payroll processes.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across functions and provide clear stakeholder updates.

  • Experience with SOX controls, audits, or compliance-driven processes.

  • Experience in a large, matrixed organization and with vendor management.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience contributing to process or automation enhancements.

  • Experience working with executives.

Work Location: This is a hybrid role, eligible candidates must reside within commuting distance of Greenville/Dallas/Richardson TX, Farmington, CT, or Charlotte, NC.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
