The Role

See yourself in our team

The COO Core Foundations Crew is at the centre of the bank’s operational transformation. We deliver foundational, reusable capabilities that enable the shift from traditional banking operations to a modern, technology-driven model.

The Product Owner – One Ops AI Foundations will lead the design and delivery of the bank’s standardised AI agent ecosystem, defining how AI agents are built, deployed, and governed across COO Operations. This product will establish reusable intelligence and engineering frameworks that enable safe, scalable autonomy in operations.

You will own the product vision and roadmap, focused on creating consistent patterns, infrastructure, and guardrails for AI agents. You will partner with cross-functional teams—including engineering, data, risk, and operations—to ensure AI capabilities are robust, compliant, and embedded seamlessly into operational workflows.

You will drive initiatives that enable scalable, AI-powered operations by improving reusability, accelerating agent development, and ensuring strong governance and control. This will unlock safe autonomy at scale while maintaining trust, transparency, and reliability.

In this role, you will guide the squad to build trusted, enterprise-grade AI foundations that support both frontline and back-office operations. You will balance strategic direction with hands-on delivery, ensuring roadmaps align with enterprise priorities while maintaining strong execution discipline.

Do work that matters

As Product Owner, you will lead the squad day-to-day to deliver change initiatives and lifecycle activities that enable operational transformation at scale. You will drive quarterly prioritisation, manage a dynamic backlog, and define measurable outcomes aligned to strategy and customer needs.

You’ll be accountable for end-to-end value delivery—from shaping strategy and discovery through to production deployment, release coordination, and ongoing optimisation. Your work will directly influence the reuse, scalability and resilience of enterprise platforms that power CBA’s operations.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Have extensive experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in complex technology environments
  • Bring strong experience across operations and compliance domains
  • Demonstrate strategic acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Have worked within agile squads or crews, ideally in financial services
  • Can analyse complex, ambiguous situations and make timely, well-informed decisions
  • Communicate with clarity, confidence and impact
  • Understand organisational risk frameworks and how to manage risk exposure
  • Bring knowledge of AI concepts, applications and responsible AI considerations
  • Apply a strong Product Mindset, including roadmap development and outcome-based prioritisation
  • Understand customer journeys, personas and pain points, aligning product decisions to real user needs
  • Balance cost, time, functionality, desirability and quality in delivery decisions
  • Have working knowledge of modern software architecture principles
  • Demonstrate strong leadership capability and a passion for building high-performing, collaborative teams
