Marketing and Corporate Affairs (MCA) works with all parts of the Group as a trusted partner to enhance and protect CommBank’s brand and reputation, increase the bank’s competitive advantage and deliver customer and business value.

The purpose of the Group Research and Insights team is to provide evidence of a customer perspective to support effective and customer driven business decisions and drive excellence in customer offerings and experiences, and to help CommBank to achieve its vision.

This role is responsible for leading the Market Research Chapter across CommBank to support the organisation with the customer insights that support decision making within business units.

We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in office. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Market Research Chapter from both project delivery and craft development
  • Oversee multiple streams of research programs including customer insights, brand and market research and ethnographic research.
  • Transform the market research technology estate to be future fit, including the enablement of AI internally and through supplier engagements and transition Qualtrics capabilities into day-to-day insight generation.
  • Build, manage and support supplier relationships to ensure better outcomes for our customers and business partners.
  • Synthesis and integration of insights across multiple data sources to optimise CommBank's market research investment.
  • Lead a team of market research professionals with a range of qualitative, quantitative and ethnographic research skills, with varying degrees of expertise, providing coaching, guidance and growth opportunities as required.

Technical Skills:

  • A highly experienced market researcher with experience across both qualitative and quantitative techniques.
  • Proven experience driving technology transformation.
  • Outstanding people leader with ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams to achieve long business objectives and goals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Experience in large scale complex projects, organisational change initiatives and implementing customer journeys.
  • A reputation for building a positive and high-performance team culture through effective talent and performance management skills.
  • Strong work ethic, a curiosity to learn and an eagerness to pursue personal development.
  • Exposure to AI would be ideal but not mandatory.
  • Risk mindset - all CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
