This Executive Manager role presents an exciting opportunity suited to an individual who is looking to make a difference in building trust and upholding the rights of individuals. Your privacy subject matter expertise will be heavily relied upon, and you will play a key role in enhancing our privacy risk management within the Group through contributing to the implementation and governance of our organisation-wide privacy risk management frameworks, including compliance with global privacy regulations.

Reporting into our Group Chief Privacy Officer, you’ll lead a team of Privacy Specialists in working closely with the Compliance teams supporting each Business Unit across the Group as well as the group and business aligned operational risk teams.

In any given week you will

  • Simplify and maintain the Group Privacy risk management framework and monitor compliance.
  • Maintenance of the Group-level Compliance Arrangements owned and managed by the Group Privacy Office to support compliance.
  • Support and improve privacy governance, including Board and ELT reporting and the development of privacy metrics.
  • Development and monitoring of progress against the Group Privacy strategy.
  • Manage a small team of Line 2 Privacy SMEs responsible for providing privacy advice to Business and Support Units.
  • Provide guidance and input into Group risk and compliance frameworks, as well as neighbourhood risk types’ frameworks.
  • Supporting assurance activities and responding to Audits.
  • Identifying and project managing regulatory change.
  • Support on privacy incidents and the assessment of whether the regulator / impacted individual needs to be notified of a data breach.

We're interested in hearing from people who have;

  • Demonstrated proven track record dealing with privacy issues for financial services firms and/or multi-national organisations.
  • Industry experience, preferably with a background in Compliance, Legal, Risk or Controls gained in an international financial institution or other regulated industry.
  • Exceptional influencing skills and ability to manage through influence in a matrixed organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to make sound judgments under tight deadlines
  • Deep understanding of relevant privacy laws and regulations and applicability to various business lines
  • In-depth understanding of the risk and control environment together with a good working knowledge of relevant laws and Data Governance and/or AI Privacy expertise.
  • Experience engaging with regulators.

Most importantly we are looking for some with a successful track record of delivering required business outcomes, has sound relationship-building capacities and demonstrable negotiating/influencing skills.
