Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining Contourline as an Executive ‐ Industrial Engineering based at Kandy to To conduct continuous improvements for production related operations, whilst engaging in SMV analysis, in order to maintain planned production efficiencies whilst increasing productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify production bottlenecks and low performing operators through time, capacity and production studies to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Develop and monitor operator skill development plans and manage the star grading system to ensure required skill levels are achieved.

  • Ensure adherence to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), 5S and drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen.

  • Ensure smooth style changeovers and drive teams to meet targets by using Yamazumi to balance workloads and improve efficiency.

  • Check line loading plans and identify new and repeat styles while preparing for new styles in a timely manner.

  • Facilitate bulk production for new styles by coordinating with IE Industrial Engineering teams and ensuring readiness of operations.

  • Organize on-the-job training programs by identifying operator skill gaps and coordinating with trainers to support skill development.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Degree in Textile Technology or NDT (National Diploma in Technology) from a recognized institute.

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar role within a production or manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to make effective decisions and resolve operational issues in a timely and practical manner.

  • Strong analytical capability to interpret data, identify gaps, and support continuous improvement.

  • Clear and effective communication skills to coordinate with teams and stakeholders.

  • Capability to manage and guide team members to maintain productivity and workplace efficiency.

Skills Required

  • Degree in Textile Technology or National Diploma in Technology (NDT) from a recognized institute
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar production or manufacturing role
  • Experience performing SMV (Standard Minute Value) analysis
  • Experience using Yamazumi (line balancing) and preparing line loading plans
  • Familiarity with SOPs, 5S, Kaizen and other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret production data and identify gaps
  • Ability to make effective operational decisions and resolve issues promptly
  • Clear and effective communication skills to coordinate with teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage and guide team members, develop operator skill plans and run on-the-job training
