We're seeking someone to join our team as a Institutional Securities Group Financial Crimes Advisory Program Execution Officer in Global Financial Crimes to be responsible for the end to end operational integrity, execution discipline, and capacity management of the ISG Advisory FCC function.
In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is an Executive Director level position within the GFC Institutional Securities Group (ISG) which is responsible for the end-to-end operational integrity, execution discipline, and capacity management of the ISG Advisory FCC function.

In Global Financial Crimes (GFC), you will play a critical role in identifying potentially suspicious activity, protecting vulnerable individuals, and safeguarding the integrity of the financial system. GFC coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's financial crime prevention efforts, including governance, oversight and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Establish and maintain strong governance, controls, and documentation aligned with Firm and regulatory standards; draft and update policies and procedures.
  • Oversee issue management, remediation tracking, and responses to internal audits, regulatory exams, and compliance inquiries.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to ISG leadership on operational risk trends, control issues, and emerging risks.
  • Act as the central liaison across GFC ISG Advisory, business units, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology/Data to drive alignment on priorities, timelines, and ownership.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and manage change for new regulations, products, and risk frameworks.
  • Own governance forums, including agenda setting, materials coordination, stakeholder engagement, and tracking of decisions, metrics, and action items.
  • Oversee training, onboarding, and capability development, deliver targeted risk training, support new product approvals, and represent the Firm in internal committees and external forums.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a large/complex financial institution, law firm, or regulatory body.
  • Strong understanding of AML, sanctions, and anti-corruption laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Institutional Securities (e.g., M&A, sales & trading, underwriting, debt financing) with the ability to assess complex transactions.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating across a global program.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to deliver in time-sensitive environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to appropriately escalate issues and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset; ACAMS certification (or equivalent) preferred or required within 15 months.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 165000 and 275000 per year at the commencement of employment.  However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
